Some cartoons/anime are perhaps better left as anime.
I’m not sure where Avatar the last Airbender fits…i guess we’ll have to wait till 2010.
The movie is being directed by ‘I see dead people’M . Night Shyamalan. Variety notes that The creators of the Nick TV series were heavily influenced by Japanese anime filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki.
Shyamalan, who will direct from a script he penned, said Miyazaki is one of the greatest storytellers in the world. “In ‘The Last Airbender,’I see an opportunity to make a live-action version of a Miyazaki film,” Shyamalan said.

There are many cartoons/anime that needs to stay that way. When cartoons/anime are attempted to be made live action, it loses many of its fans and future hopes of it ever being shown again. For example, “Speed Racer” fans of all ages for a long time. Now when they made that a live action movie, it was awful! And the majority of people will agree with me on that. Another movie “Dragon Ball” who hasn’t heard of that movie. Heck, it pretty much started the whole anime liking of many. Now I can’t express how angry I was when I saw the trailer of that movie as it brought such a disappointment to me. Can anyone guess the major flaw of any of these movies? THE ACTORS AND MAIN CHARACTERS WERE CAUCASION! Now come on!!?! These anime/cartoons are all based in an oriental culture setting. Speed Racer first name is Goh and his last name is Mifune, it’s not Brandon Smith. I mean.. come on people… am I getting through to any of you on this? These actors and main characters for the majority part have to be oriental of some sort. In this case I think we all know that this should include the fire country (look at the building designs, it’s a giveaway..Asian) the earth country (buildings yet again, but also don’t forget how Toph got a makeover…geisha appearance). The water tribes (Eskimo’s would be the first thought that comes to mind based on their cloths and the way they live) and the air country (They are monks may I remind you and based on their appearance I would say they resemble much of the Tibetan monks)
