In regards to the Legacy comics which some of the authors are now falling back on to “justify the outcome” (read: blame the outcome) I also wonder if perhaps Darkhorse didn’t make this new new series of theirs at right angles to the novels because the authors of the novel series by and large did a pretty good job pretending their “Dark Empire” series (I believe was the title, its been awhile) didn’t exist.

To people who contend that this was a good series because of all the deaths, be they written or simply just character assassination and that it “shook up” the EU novels, I might give that argument a little (very very little) bit more credibility if it weren’t for that neat little bow Denning put on everything in the last few pages of his ridiculously short book he claims he “labored over.”

The way in which everything is essentially back to normal and everyone just moves on with their lives made the ludicrous storytelling where everything went from bad to worse, to even worse to worst makes what they did with all the characters seem trite and even spiteful.

Ha, there is a lot of speculation on the Star Wars forums about whether Timothy Zahn is going to be brought on to write something for “damage control,” given that in the end this series essentially killed three of his personal character additions (granted he never did anything with Jacen.) I would imagine he’d rather just kill off every character created by Allston and Traviss. I’d mention Denning but aside from “Allana” (and I doubt anyone is going to be sending a gradeschooler down a black hole or anything) I can’t think of anything Denning has actually contributed; save bugs of course but then leaving them crawling around is probably worse for him than killing them off. After all there is a reason all those Starship Trooper sequals are straight to dvd..

I could go on and on about the problems with this series, though i would speculate it would be difficult to stand up to the NJO series which might not have helped. Also as people have said the fact they had decided to end it all at the end of 9 books was a mistake, and restricted the writing, especially when the assumption was that they would have to write a juvenile ending where Jacen lost. Why couldnt the series end with the last of the Jedi retreating, with Jacen gathering his forces and taking control, leaving the next series to deal with the new Empire under his control.

I know this is long, but similarly i agree that certain jedi, for the purposes of continuing the saga seemed not powerful enough such as Jaina which made her killing Jacen hard to believe. However when i think about how irritated i am with the sloppy writing that has ruined what had the possibility of being a great series i remember the terrible Han Solo trilogy which seemed to be written for small children and actually gave me a headache due to how poor it was, and how ill written and plotted it was. With stupid characters and boring and over simplified ideas and stories. At least they tried in this one.

he makes armor out of amphistaffs and takes complete control of the vongs new planet through his buddy the world brain.then he kills omini and about 5 of the slayers i believe. that is a badass.

jacen was a great character stop your crying and admit that if you read from traitor on that jacen was a badass but he fell. he got cocky and fell. luke is the man if you dont like it then tough shit.

everyone take your fingers off the nuclear launch buttons and just fucking relax. it was a good book. i dont know about you but a hundred jedi raiding the anakin solo sounded pretty cool to me.

also the authors set up everything for the future if you would stop crying and read the legacy comics. give them a fucking try.
luke created the fel dynasty at the end of the book by putting jag in control of the empire. han gave the idea for the imperial mission which is in legacy. and dalla being in charge is cool. she was always a great villain and now shes gonna be the leader of the galaxy? its gonns be some good reading when the story continues.

at the back of the book it tells about milennium falcon. read that part. this new threat that attacks the force itself may finally bring us the chiss joining the fel empire and fighting a new unknown threat.

i am as mad as everyone in here about jacen but
