The first Knight Rider car (KITT) was of course a Pontiac Firebird …you remember the early 80′s one with the pop up lights!
The new Knight Rider for the re-imagined series?
Well it’s not a Firebird (they don’t make them anymore)
It’s not one of the new Camaro’s (that actually debuted in Transformers)
It’s actually the Firebird/Camaro’s mortal enemy
Yup it’s a MUSTANG.

As a huge Mustang fan, I am delighted that the new version of Knight Rider will be using a real car.
Ah, Knight Rider…It has been a while since I have thought about that show. I have to be honest, I thought it was the coolest back in the day. Thanks for the update. I may have to check out the new series for nostalgia’s sake. Do you know, by chance, what the casting will look like?
Best,
